Job summary

Qualifications

• 6+ years in product or UX design with design systems leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in design or related field.
• Proven experience evolving a design system, including components and governance.
• Strong accessibility knowledge (WCAG/ADA) and responsive design.
• Experience designing for web and native mobile.
• Advanced Figma skills and parity with code.
• Collaboration with engineering on a coded component library; HTML/CSS understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead the evolution, management, and quality of the design system across web and native mobile experiences.
• Own components, patterns, tokens, documentation, accessibility standards, and governance.
• Partner with engineering to plan, design, review, test, and release design system updates.
• Maintain parity between designed and coded sources; help teams understand component behavior.
• Build accessibility into components from the beginning and advocate WCAG/ADA practices.
• Maintain design system documentation and usage guidance for teams.
• Support AI readiness through documentation, tokens, and guidance.
• Lead design system meetings, office hours, critiques, and other rituals.
• Communicate updates, gather feedback, and drive adoption.
• Backlog design system items with product owner; translate needs into work.
• Collaborate with product managers as UX partner for Ther aNest initiatives.
• Design user-centered solutions aligned with business goals and metrics.
• Produce artifacts: concepts, wireframes, flows, mockups, prototypes, specs.
• Plan and conduct user research and usability testing; synthesize findings.
• Present design work to stakeholders and align on decisions.
• Follow privacy/compliance requirements, including HIPAA considerations.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance design, research, and documentation workflows.
• Mentor other designers and raise design system fluency.
