Job summary

HNTB Corporation seeks a DB Design Manager (Highway/ Managed Lanes) to lead teams on mega projects nationwide. Travel to project offices is required while base location can be any HNTB office. The role targets delivering quality work on time, on budget, and to client satisfaction on projects ranging from $25M to $100M+.

Responsibilities include developing client relationships, managing project finances, staffing, and pursuing new opportunities with clients and pursuit teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and 12 years of relevant experience including 6 years leading mega/super mega projects.
• Masters degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification in multiple states, including CA.
• Experience as Design Manager on multiple Design Build highway/managed lanes projects.
• DBIA certification and PMP are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and nurture key client relationships as the primary company contact on assigned projects.
• Manage financial performance: cash, budget, schedule, and project scope to meet goals.
• Staff projects by engaging Directors and Managers to align with the Work Plan.
• Collaborate with leadership to solve challenges and meet business objectives.
• Mentor project staff and oversee staffing and performance reviews.
• Lead pursuits of mega projects and develop long-term client strategies with pursuit teams.
