Job summary

HNTB is seeking a DB Design Manager (Highway/Managed Lanes) to lead teams on major national projects. This officer-level role demands proven experience with contractors and a track record of guiding design teams on high-value highway infrastructure.

The position can be based from any HNTB office nationwide and requires travel to project offices; 4-for-4 performance delivery is expected on mega programs with fees from $25M to $100M+.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 12 years of relevant experience including 6 years on mega/super mega projects.
• Experience leading mega and/or super mega highway/design-build projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification in multiple states including California.
• DBIA certification and PMP credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and nurture key client relationships; be the primary contact on projects.
• Oversee financial performance: cash, budget, schedule, and scope adherence.
• Staff projects by coordinating with leadership to assign resources.
• Collaborate with leadership to solve challenges and meet business goals.
• Mentor and supervise project staff and, where appropriate, Project Managers.
• Lead pursuits for mega projects and present proposals to clients.
