Job summary

AssemblyAI is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to own the craft and feel of the product experience end to end. This role designs and builds developer-facing interfaces, from Playground to dashboard, ensuring the UI looks and moves as well as it works.

You will pair a strong design background with frontend engineering, shaping a scalable design system and collaborating with engineering, marketing, and sales to ship polished experiences.

Qualifications

• A strong portfolio of shipped product work demonstrating design taste and craft.
• Genuine UX and visual design ability from concept to high fidelity execution.
• Proficiency in Figma and maintaining shared component libraries.
• Solid frontend engineering skills with production React and TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Own the visual and interaction design of core product surfaces in production React and TypeScript.
• Set UX quality across the product: interaction states, motion, hierarchy, and density.
• Turn rough ideas into polished, high-fidelity experiences; prototype quickly.
• Shape and steward the design system and visual language as the product grows.
• Partner with engineering and marketing on direction, not just execution.
• Use AI tooling and agents to design and ship faster.
