Job summary

AssemblyAI is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to own the craft and feel of the product experience end to end. You will design and build the interfaces our developers live in, from the Playground to the dashboard, shaping how everything looks, moves, and feels.

A strong design background with frontend engineering ability is essential. You will lead with design while engineering brings it to life, focusing on interaction states, motion, hierarchy, and information density.

Qualifications

• Proven UX and visual design ability from concept through high-fidelity execution.
• Strong portfolio showing shipped product work and design taste.
• Solid frontend engineering skills with React and TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Own the visual and interaction design of core product surfaces and implement in production React/TypeScript.
• Set the bar for UX quality across the product including interaction states, motion, hierarchy and density.
• Turn rough product ideas into polished, high-fidelity experiences; prototype quickly to pressure-test direction.
