AssemblyAI is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to own the craft and feel of our product experience end to end. You’ll design and build interfaces developers use, from Playground to dashboard, with a strong design background and frontend engineering ability.

You lead with design and work directly with engineering, marketing, and sales to ship polished experiences. You’ll shape our design system and apply AI tooling to accelerate delivery across the product surface.

Qualifications

Strong portfolio demonstrating taste and craft in shipped product work.
UX and visual design ability from concept to high-fidelity execution.
Proficiency in Figma and maintaining component libraries.
Frontend engineering skills for production React/TS interfaces.
Familiarity with AI-assisted design and AI-native interfaces.
Comfort with ambiguity and owning outcomes end to end.

Responsibilities

Own visual and interaction design of core product surfaces in production React/TS.
Set UX quality bar across the product, including motion and hierarchy.
Turn rough ideas into polished, high-fidelity experiences with prototyping.
Shape and steward design system and visual language as product scales.
Collaborate with engineering and marketing on direction and execution.
Leverage AI tooling to design and ship faster.
