Job summary

AssemblyAI is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to own the craft and feel of our product experience end to end. You will design and build the interfaces developers interact with, from the Playground to the dashboard, and set the bar on visuals and motion.

This role blends design with frontend engineering, requiring strong UX taste, production React/TypeScript work, and a passion for AI-native interfaces. You’ll collaborate across engineering, marketing and sales to ship polished experiences.

Qualifications

• Strong portfolio of shipped product work showing design taste and craft.
• Genuine UX and visual design ability from concept through high-fidelity.
• Proficiency in Figma and maintaining component libraries.

Responsibilities

• Own the visual and interaction design of core product surfaces; implement in production React and TypeScript.
• Set UX quality across the product: interactions, motion, hierarchy, density.
• Turn rough ideas into polished, high-fidelity experiences and prototype quickly.
• Shape and steward our design system and visual language for scalable quality.
• Collaborate with engineering and marketing on direction, not just execution.
