AssemblyAI is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to own the craft and feel of our product experience from Playground to dashboard. You’ll design interfaces developers use daily, blending strong design with frontend engineering to ship polished experiences.

You’ll lead with design, shaping interaction states, motion, hierarchy, and information density while collaborating with engineering, marketing, and sales to move from rough ideas to shipped features. Creativity meets rigor here.

Qualifications

• A strong portfolio of shipped product work demonstrating design taste and craft.
• Genuine UX and visual design ability from concept to high-fidelity.
• Deep proficiency in Figma for dev-ready designs and component libraries.
• Solid frontend engineering skills in React and TypeScript.
• Fluency with AI-assisted design and building AI-native interfaces.
• Comfort operating with ambiguity and owning outcomes end to end.

Responsibilities

• Own the visual and interaction design of core product surfaces in production React/TypeScript.
• Set UX quality bar across the product: interaction states, motion, hierarchy, and density.
• Turn rough product ideas into polished, high-fidelity experiences with rapid prototyping.
• Shape and steward our design system and visual language for scalable growth.
• Partner with engineering and marketing on direction, not just execution.
• Use AI tooling to design and ship faster.
