Job summary

AssemblyAI is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to own the craft and feel of the product experience end to end. This role designs and builds the interfaces developers live in, from the Playground to the dashboard, combining strong design with frontend engineering in React and TypeScript.

You will lead with design, shaping interaction states, motion, hierarchy, and information density for AI-native tools used by developers.

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrating product design craft and taste.
• Experience delivering high-fidelity, dev-ready designs.
• Strong UX and visual design abilities from concept to finish.

Responsibilities

• Own visual and interaction design of core product surfaces in production React/TypeScript.
• Set UX quality bar across the product including motion and hierarchy.
• Turn rough ideas into polished, high-fidelity experiences.
• Shape and steward design system and visual language as product grows.
• Collaborate with engineering and marketing on direction, not just execution.
• Leverage AI tooling to speed up design and shipping.
