Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a System Protection, Control, Integration, and Automation SME to develop protection and control standards for distributed energy resources (DER) within the DPAC Enterprise Standards team. The role supports safe DER integration, ride-through, stability, and anti-islanding concepts across DE-owned sites.

You will test concepts in relay labs and field environments, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and mentor peers while contributing to training artifacts and method

Qualifications

Engineering degree from ABET-accredited program; PE license preferred or state registration acceptable.
Experience with protection and control standards for distributed energy resources (DER).
Experience in field and factory acceptance testing of protection/automation systems.

Responsibilities

Develop standards, guides, and statements for system protection and control of DER.
Create protection settings, logic, and control templates; support automation standards.
Provide SME input for training materials and documentation; assist field tests.
Collaborate with DPAC ES, Equipment & Construction Standards, DCC, and Asset Management.
