Job summary

Duke Energy in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a System Protection, Control, Integration, and Automation SME to lead protection and control standards for distributed energy resources within the DPAC Enterprise Standards team. The role focuses on safe DER integration and grid stability considerations, including ride-through and anti-islanding concepts.

You will test, develop templates, and collaborate with internal customers while mentoring engineers.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Minimum 4 years related engineering experience.
• MS degree may substitute for BS.
• Senior: PE licensure or state registration required.

Responsibilities

• Develop standards, guides, and position statements for DER protection and control.
• Create protection settings, logic, and control templates.
• Support development of control and automation standards for equipment.
• Participate in training development and documentation.
• Hands-on testing in relay lab, field lab, and during factory acceptance.
• Collaborate with DPAC ES team and stakeholders.
• Mentor and lead peers.
