Job summary

Strata Clean Energy in Durham, NC is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel to report to the General Counsel and lead complex corporate and project financing transactions in the renewable energy sector. You will supervise junior attorneys and collaborate with cross-functional teams across business units.

The role focuses on negotiating investments, M&A, project development matters, EPC contract negotiations, and risk management.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school with bar admission in a U.S. state.
• Minimum 12 years of finance, M&A, and transactional work in energy or infrastructure.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a legal team and manage external resources.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate, draft, and close corporate and project-level financing transactions.
• Independently evaluate investments, M&A, and joint ventures with exec oversight.
• Assist development teams on site control, permitting, interconnection, and offtake.
• Guide EPC contract negotiations and project finance/M&A matters with external counsel.
• Manage junior attorneys and support staff within the legal department.
