Job summary

Leeward Renewable Energy (LRE) seeks a Senior Counsel to lead real estate, permitting, and development matters across large-scale energy projects. You will negotiate EPC contracts, provide risk-aware guidance, and support acquisitions, financings, and project delivery with internal teams and outside counsel.

You will mentor junior attorneys, manage complex transactions, and advise executives on strategic legal and commercial risk in a fast-growing renewable energy portfolio.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 6+ years of legal experience in construction, real estate, or renewable energy transactions.
• Strong contract negotiation and risk mitigation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead real estate, permitting, and development legal strategies across the project lifecycle.
• Negotiate EPC contracts, supply agreements, and vendor arrangements.
• Advise business leaders on legal and commercial risk.
• Collaborate with internal teams and outside counsel to support project delivery.
• Mentor junior attorneys and paralegals.
