Job summary

SunStrong Management, a leading solar asset management platform, seeks an Associate General Counsel to lead complex transactions, draft agreements, and build robust corporate infrastructure. This remote role reports to the General Counsel and collaborates with senior leadership.

Ideal candidate has 7–12+ years in renewable energy deals, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and the ability to translate legal risk into actionable business decisions.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
• 7–12+ years of experience in renewable energy transactions, law firm plus in-house preferred.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills; ability to translate legal risk into business terms.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiation of complex commercial agreements, including MSA, O&M, NDAs, SAAS, licensing, and SREC deals.
• Build and standardize contracting templates and playbooks; implement approval workflows.
• Design deal processes, due diligence checklists, and reduce reliance on external counsel over time.
• Embed legal with operations and finance; translate legal requirements into scalable business processes.
• Advise on corporate governance, board materials, and M&A activities; support strategic transactions.
