Avangrid Power, LLC, a renewable energy subsidiary, seeks a Senior Counsel (Real Estate) to lead real estate legal matters for development, construction, asset management, and financing of wind, solar, and energy storage projects across the U.S. The role requires sophisticated transactional and advisory capabilities within a large regulated utility and renewables framework.

The successful candidate will guide negotiations, manage title and property issues, and partner with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school with state Bar admission and 6+ years of relevant legal experience.
• Strong ethical values aligned with Avangrid's core values.
• Self-motivated, resourceful and agile to handle a broad range of legal matters.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to provide cross-functional support.
• Well-organized with ability to identify business-oriented solutions.
• Excellent oral and written communication, problem solving, analytical and negotiating skills.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and high-quality work.

Responsabilités

• Provide legal counsel and advice supporting development, construction and asset management for renewable energy projects, especially real estate.
• Support major transactions and negotiations including joint ventures, landowner issues, asset dispositions and acquisitions.
• Present complex legal matters to senior business clients in plain language.
• Manage outside counsel and coordinate with in-house team.
• Review and draft transactional agreements (wind, solar, and related leases, purchases, options, consents, etc.).
• Assist with title investigations, curative instruments and related filings.
• Coordinate with the in-house real estate paralegal and litigation support.
