University of Tennessee College of Dentistry seeks a Senior Admitting Clerk to manage the day-to-day front desk activities, including clerical work and creating/updating patient records in the Clinical Software for the College of Dentistry.

Responsibilities include creating records for screenings and clinics, verifying demographics, capturing patient photos, answering multi-line calls, and processing payments while maintaining accurate records and records reconciliation.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (transcripts required).
  • One year of clerical experience; dental/medical office experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage a multi-line telephone and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create new patient records for screenings, orientation, and various clinics.
  • Verify patient demographics and enter information into Clinical Management software.
  • Capture patient photos and signatures for forms and consent.
  • Answer multi-line phone, greet patients and visitors to the department.
  • Manage medical consults for undergraduate patients and coordinate with students.
  • Maintain Access database for yearly patient flow and referrals.
  • Process payments via credit cards, cash, and online methods.
  • Reconcile payments with accounting software per financial policies.
