Job summary

Kiewit Foundations Co. seeks a Superintendent to lead field operations on deep foundation projects across North America.

You will set safety, quality, schedule, and cost expectations for crews, and mentor builders on geotechnical construction techniques. The role requires strong technical background in foundations and excellent communication skills to work with field engineering, craft workers, and management.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in planning, scheduling, and management of deep foundation and/or ground improvement operations.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience as a superintendent.
• Experience with and broad knowledge of foundation/ground improvement equipment (drills, concrete pumps, batch plants).
• Knowledge of pumping and placement of concrete and grout.
• Must be skilled in one or more of the following disciplines (pile driving, auger cast, small diameter shafts, micro piles, etc.).
• Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervisory direction of craft workers via the general foreman and foreman, managing productivity, safety, quality and schedule adherence for deep foundation projects.
• Liaison between field engineering and craft to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate and interface with other superintendents, subcontractors, and Kiewit staff to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.
• Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project and corporate management as appropriate.
• Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements.
• Ensure project rules and safety policies are followed consistently.
