Job summary

The Sr. Deceased Account & Estate Servicing Specialist will manage end-to-end handling of deceased borrower accounts, serving as primary contact for families, executors, attorneys, and internal teams to ensure compliant resolution.

The role requires extensive loan servicing experience, probate knowledge, empathy, meticulous documentation, and the ability to coordinate payoff, transfers, and closures while meeting service levels and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of loan servicing experience (consumer and/or mortgage) banking operations or financial services.
• Three+ years of experience handling deceased accounts, probate, estate servicing, or complex account resolution.
• Experience in a financial institution with knowledge of consumer and mortgage servicing processes.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and processes notification of borrower death for consumer and mortgage loans.
• Determines next steps based on ownership structure, state law, collateral position, and estate status.
• Serves as primary liaison with executors, administrators, attorneys, heirs, and surviving family members.
• Coordinates payoff, transfer, modification, or charge-off activities as needed.
• Maintains probate timelines and documents estate proceedings.
• Ensures adherence to regulatory and internal servicing requirements.
