Job summary

Adobe is seeking a Senior Database Reliability Engineer to own the reliability, scalability, and performance of our global database platforms. You will drive architecture decisions, build automated tooling, and improve observability across services.

You will collaborate with cloud providers and engineering teams to modernize databases, lead production incidents, and ensure high availability. A strong Linux, scripting, and database background is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years operating highly available, critical database platforms at scale.
• Hands-on experience with two or more of MongoDB, Cassandra, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Percona XtraDB Cluster, or MariaDB Galera Cluster.
• Experience operating database platforms on AWS and/or Azure.
• Hands-on experience with managed database services such as Amazon RDS, Keyspaces, DynamoDB, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, MongoDB Atlas.
• Proven experience leading database modernization and migration initiatives.
• Proficiency with IaC and automation tools like Terraform, Chef, or Ansible.
• Strong Linux systems and networking fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability, scalability, and performance of Adobe’s database platforms, ensuring high availability and resilience.
• Influence database architecture and platform strategy with engineering teams and cloud providers.
• Build self-service and automated platform capabilities for deployment and operation of database infrastructure.
• Establish observability through monitoring, tracing, and logging to improve service reliability.
• Lead production events with rapid mitigation, root-cause analysis, and long-term resiliency improvements via automation.
• Provide operational stewardship for cross-regional business-critical database services.
