Job summary

The MathWorks, Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE) to own the reliability and performance of production databases across on-prem and cloud environments.

You will collaborate with SREs, application teams, cloud engineers, and security partners to design scalable and secure database solutions. You will approach operations with an engineering lens, delivering automation, IaC, and observability improvements to reduce toil and enhance developer experience.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or equivalent experience).
• Demonstrated experience in/with Database

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability, availability, recoverability, security, and performance of production database platforms.
• Design, build, and maintain automation to reduce operational toil and enable self-service capabilities.
• Provide database expertise during architecture discussions and cloud modernization efforts.
• Partner with security and compliance teams to implement secure-by-default database capabilities.
• Mentor peers and contribute to reliability standards across IT Platform Engineering.
