Job summary

Supabase is seeking an experienced Database Support Engineer to join our Support Team and help developers unblock complex issues, optimize workloads and get the most out of the platform. You’ll collaborate with customers and engineering across Postgres, Auth, RLS, Storage, Realtime and Edge Functions in a fast‑paced, fully remote environment.

Expect 7+ years in technical support or database roles, deep PostgreSQL knowledge, and a passion for mentoring teammates.

Qualifications

7+ years in technical support, databases or SRE.
Deep PostgreSQL knowledge including autovacuum, WAL, long‑running transactions.
Strong SQL performance and query optimization.
Experience debugging Edge Functions and multi‑tenant schemas.
Hands-on with cloud platforms such as AWS.

Responsibilities

Investigate and resolve advanced customer issues across Postgres, Auth, RLS, Storage, Realtime, Edge Functions and client libraries.
Provide consultative, proactive advice to optimise workloads and tailor guidance for advanced users.
Reproduce bugs, isolate root causes, propose workarounds and escalate with clear steps.
Ask targeted questions to turn reports into actionable cases.
Communicate clearly and empathetically with users at all levels.
Spot patterns across tickets and suggest improvements to docs and tooling.
Mentor junior team members and raise support quality.
