Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer in the Data Security Group to lead the pre-sales effort, becoming the trusted technical advisor to the Specialist Account Manager and customers. You will focus on Data Security and Insider Risk, delivering People-Centric solutions across DLP, CASB, and DSPM.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of proven track record selling solutions as a Sales Engineer or related areas.
• Strong understanding of Cybersecurity market landscape, especially Data Security and Insider Risk.
• Expertise in core security solutions such as DLP, CASB, Insider Threat, Endpoint Security, DSPM.
• Good understanding of the sales process and the role of a sales engineer.
• Strong technical presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to architect solutions addressing business challenges.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
• Ability to work independently and stay positive.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant field; CISSP preferred.
• Travel required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Drive high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with Sales Specialists and Account Teams on penetration strategies.
• Build trust with customers and be the main technical contact.
• Lead technical discovery, planning, execution and wrap-up of POCs and evaluations.
• Design and champion complex People-Centric Security solutions across the Data Security portfolio.
• Occasionally assist in professional services deployments, training, or industry events.
• Work with Professional Services, Support, Engineering, and Product Management to ensure success.
• Provide customer insights to Product Management, Marketing, and Engineering.
• Develop and deliver training to peers and account teams.
• Contribute to internal documentation and training.
• Help develop processes within the team and across the org.
