Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to join the Data Security Group (DSG) and act as the technical lead in the pre-sales cycle. You’ll partner with the Specialist Account Manager, deliver People-Centric security solutions, and guide customers from discovery through proof-of-concept and production evaluations.

The role requires deep knowledge of Data Security technologies, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years selling solutions as a Sales Engineer or related area.
• Experience in Data Security and Insider Risk.
• Knowledge of Enterprise DLP, CASB, Insider Threat, Endpoint Security, DSPM.
• Understanding of sales process and role of a sales engineer.
• Strong presentation and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with sales teams to develop penetration strategies.
• Be the main technical contact for customers throughout the process.
• Lead technical discovery, planning, and POC evaluations.
• Design and champion data security solutions across the portfolio.
• Assist in services deployments or trainings as needed.
• Work with PSD, Support, Engineering, and Product Management to ensure success.
• Provide customer insight to Product Management and Marketing.
• Develop and deliver internal training and presentations.
• Contribute to internal documentation and processes.
