Job summary

Vantor is hiring a Senior Data Scientist to lead development of statistical and machine learning models for the FALCON program. The role involves leveraging live and historical data to detect kinematic behaviors, running simulations, and informing the development team on analytics integration.

You will collaborate with software engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to build scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions.

Qualifications

• US citizen required.
• Masters in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or related field with 5+ years in data science, or a Bachelor’s with 10+ years experience.
• Current Top Secret security clearance and/or CBP/DHS suitability.
• Proficient in Python and libraries (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, matplotlib, scipy).
• Experience with time series and/or geospatial data processing, cleaning, and analysis.
• Strong statistics background (testing, regression, probability).
• 7+ years applying ML to time series/geospatial data.
• 7+ years PostgreSQL/HDFS and Git experience.
• Experience with time series event forecasting and data visualization for presentations.

Responsibilities

• Lead team in designing analytic solutions that meet customer needs
• Enhance existing analytic solutions for quality and performance
• Integrate data from multiple sources to create a common operating picture
• Select and implement statistical analyses and scoring metrics for algorithms
• Create training and test datasets from multiple sources
• Perform data processing including cleansing and validation
• Implement ETL functions
• Produce analytic reports and presentations for stakeholders
• Develop data visualizations for analysis and end-user UI needs
• Perform feature engineering, classifier optimization, and forecasting
• Interface with external stakeholders to decompose data science needs
• Document data science processes, results, and approaches
• Evaluate and implement machine learning algorithms to improve existing models
