Job summary

Upstart is seeking a senior analytics leader to head Marketing Science within Growth, Product, and Ops Analytics. The role leads analysts and data scientists embedded across marketing channels, driving end-to-end analytics and experimentation to optimize performance and ROI.

The position emphasizes partnering with marketing, finance, and product to set the team’s roadmap, improve incrementality, and deliver high-quality measurement outputs while enabling scalable growth across the company.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data science and analytics.
• 5+ years managing teams of analysts and data scientists.
• Proficient in SQL and Python to verify work.
• Track record of hiring and growing people.
• Strong judgment in ambiguous/greenfield areas.
• Clear written and verbal communication with senior audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of analysts and data scientists embedded with marketing channels, end to end.
• Center experimentation: decide tests worth running and ensure results drive actions.
• Explain why channel performance moved and what marketing should do.
• Proactively identify problems/opportunities before asked.
• Maintain high standards for measurement, including incrementality and attribution.
• Collaborate with marketing, finance, and product to set roadmap and priorities.
• Hire and develop a partner-like analytics team.
