First National Bank of Omaha seeks a Sr. Director, Advanced Data Scientist to lead a multi-year modeling roadmap for credit risk and portfolio management within the Partnership Division.

You will oversee the development of advanced ML models for credit decisioning and customer risk, collaborating with business, risk, and technology teams. The ideal candidate has 7+ years building statistical or ML models, strong Python/R and SQL skills, and experience with XGBoost/LightGBM, SHAP, and model

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field.
• 7+ years of experience building statistical or ML models, preferably in financial services or consumer credit.
• Strong Python and/or R skills; SQL proficiency.
• Experience with gradient boosting, ensemble methods, neural networks, and SHAP explainability.
• Experience across the full model-development lifecycle: development, deployment, monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the multi-year modeling roadmap for credit-risk acquisition and portfolio management models.
• Lead development of advanced ML models for credit decisioning and customer risk.
• Own end-to-end model development projects from problem to production.
• Develop monitoring frameworks for model performance and stability.
• Provide technical leadership and align methodologies with risk and regulatory expectations.
