First National Bank of Omaha is seeking a Sr. Director, Advanced Data Scientist to lead a multi-year modeling roadmap for credit decisioning and portfolio management.

You will own end-to-end model development, apply cutting-edge ML, and drive cross-functional alignment with risk, compliance, and technology teams. The role emphasizes leadership, explainability, and staying current with ML advances to deliver measurable business impact at scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience developing statistical or machine learning models, preferably in financial services or consumer credit.
• Strong experience independently developing predictive models using large and complex datasets.
• Proficient in Python and/or R; strong SQL skills.
• Experience with advanced ML techniques including gradient boosting, neural networks, and ensemble methods.

Responsibilities

• Independently design and develop advanced ML models for credit card acquisition, underwriting, and account management.
• Apply sophisticated statistical techniques to large customer and credit datasets.
• Lead model-development projects from problem definition through production deployment.
• Document methodology, assumptions, limitations, and results for risk and governance.
• Collaborate with model validation and risk teams to address challenges and implement feedback.
• Develop monitoring frameworks for model performance, stability, and data shifts.
