Job summary

First National Bank of Omaha is seeking a Sr. Director, Advanced Data Scientist to lead the data science and modeling function within the Partnership Division. You will define a multi-year modeling roadmap and oversee development of advanced ML models for credit decisioning and portfolio management.

You will communicate results to senior leaders, own end-to-end model projects, and drive adoption of innovative techniques while ensuring regulatory compliance and business impact.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in a quantitative field.
• PhD strongly preferred with ML/research background.
• 7+ years building statistical or ML models, preferably in finance.
• Proficient in Python and/or R; strong SQL skills.
• Experience with gradient boosting, neural networks, and explainability methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-year modeling roadmap for credit-risk models.
• Develop and productionize ML models for acquisition and risk.
• Own end-to-end model development lifecycle and governance.
• Collaborate with risk, compliance, and technology teams for implementation.
