First National Bank of Omaha seeks a Sr. Director, Advanced Data Scientist to lead the data science and modeling function within the Partnership Division.

This role owns the multi-year modeling roadmap, develops advanced ML models for credit decisioning and portfolio management, and communicates results to senior leadership. You will guide end-to-end model development, apply cutting-edge techniques, ensure model risk governance, and drive measurable business impact at scale, with flexible remote

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, CS, Mathematics or related quantitative field
• 7+ years of experience developing statistical or machine-learning models in financial services or consumer credit
• Proficient in Python and/or R; strong SQL skills
• Experience with gradient boosting, ensemble methods, neural networks and other advanced ML techniques
• Experience with model explainability techniques such as SHAP and partial dependence
• Full model development lifecycle: development, implementation, and monitoring

Responsibilities

• Define multi-year modeling roadmap for credit risk acquisition and portfolio management models
• Lead development of ML models for credit card acquisition, underwriting, and customer risk
• Own end-to-end model projects from problem definition to production deployment and monitoring
• Develop interpretable ML approaches balancing predictive power with regulatory requirements
• Establish model performance monitoring, retraining, and governance processes
• Stay current with advances in ML and credit-risk analytics and regulatory expectations
