Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer on the Data & Performance Enablement team to design and implement platforms that manage distributed event streaming technologies. You will own features for database, messaging, and data warehouse platforms, while mentoring engineers and contributing to the technical roadmap.

In this full‑time role, you will design automation for provisioning, backups, and user management; troubleshoot complex issues; improve streaming services and security;

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applicable engineering experience.
• Experience with messaging platforms (Kafka/Redis).
• IaC experience with infrastructure automation.
• Proficient in scripting (Bash, Python).
• Experience with Azure or AWS and managed offerings.
• Nice to have CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data platform components for provisioning, backups, and user management.
• Troubleshoot complex performance and reliability issues in data systems and act as escalation point.
• Identify opportunities to improve streaming services, security, and automation.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support critical services.
• Mentor junior engineers on DBRE principles and query optimization.
• Contribute to the roadmap by researching new data technologies and proposing solutions.
