Lyric is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for the Data Platform team. You will build the data foundation underlying Lyric’s products, design canonical data models, and ensure data quality across a multi-tenant platform using Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, and Python.

You’ll implement production data pipelines, contribute to architecture, and mentor others while maintaining strong engineering practices and observability. This is a remote US role with on-call rotations and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, building and owning production data pipelines.
• Strong Snowflake experience, including streams and tasks, warehouse sizing and performance tuning, SQL optimization, and RBAC knowledge.
• Production experience with dbt and Airflow, including structuring models and DAGs for maintainability.
• Strong programming in Python and deep SQL proficiency.
• Solid data modeling skills for shared vs consumer-specific schemas.
• Experience building testing and data quality validation into pipelines.
• Disciplined engineering practices: version control, code review, and CI/CD.
• Ability to work with non-engineering data consumers and communicate constraints clearly.

Responsabilités

• Design, build, and own data pipelines in our unified framework using Airflow, dbt, and Snowflake.
• Implement the canonical data model in production within the architecture set by the Principal Data Engineer.
• Build automated validation and data quality checks into pipelines at defined stages.
• Instrument pipelines for observability, including freshness and lineage.
• Contribute to self-service data delivery for governed outputs.
• Collaborate with invoicing, analytics, and reporting teams to translate requirements into reliable data.
• Migrate and consolidate workloads onto the unified framework without disrupting consumers.
• Participate in on-call rotation for pipeline incidents and post-incident reviews.
• Maintain high engineering standards: version control, testing, and documentation.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical level of the team.
