Job summary

Lyric is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for the Data Platform team. You will design and own production data pipelines using Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, and Python, building a canonical data model and ensuring data quality and observability across a multi-tenant platform.

This hands-on role requires collaboration with a Principal Data Engineer, mentoring others, and contributing to architectural direction while upholding high engineering standards. The position is remote in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a software-related field.
• 5+ years of data engineering experience building production pipelines.
• Strong Snowflake experience with streams, tasks, and performance tuning.
• Production experience with dbt and Airflow for maintainable models.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own data pipelines using Airflow, dbt, and Snowflake.
• Implement canonical data models in production within the architecture set by senior engineers.
• Build automated data quality checks at defined stages to catch defects early.
• Instrument pipelines for observability: freshness, lineage, and alerts.
• Contribute to self-service capabilities for consuming teams with governed output.
• Collaborate with invoicing, analytics, and reporting teams to translate requirements.
• Migrate and consolidate data workloads onto the unified framework without disruption.
• Participate in on-call rotation for incidents and reviews for permanent fixes.
• Maintain high engineering standards: version control, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical level across the team.
