Job summary

Lyric is seeking a Senior Data Engineer on the Data Platform team to design and deliver production data pipelines using Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, and Python. You will own the canonical data model and build validation, observability, and self-service capabilities for multiple consumers.

The role emphasizes on-call responsibilities, data quality, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to enable accurate payments and insights in real time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software/CS or related field.
• 5+ years of data engineering and production data pipelines.
• Strong Snowflake experience including streams, tasks, sizing, and performance tuning.
• Production experience with dbt and Airflow; maintainable models and DAGs.
• Strong Python and SQL proficiency; solid data modeling skills.
• Experience building testing and data quality into pipelines; CI/CD awareness.
• Able to communicate constraints and tradeoffs to non-engineering consumers.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own data pipelines in a unified framework using Airflow, dbt, and Snowflake.
• Implement the canonical data model in production and contribute to architectural direction.
• Build automated validation and data quality checks at defined stages.
• Instrument pipelines for observability, including freshness and failure alerts.
• Enable self-service data delivery to consuming teams with governed outputs.
• Collaborate with invoicing, analytics, and reporting teams to meet data needs.
• Migrate and consolidate workloads onto the unified framework without disruption.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident reviews; uphold engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical level of the team.
