Job summary

Lyric is seeking a Senior Data Engineer on the Data Platform team to build the data foundation behind our healthcare decision intelligence platform. You will design and deliver production data pipelines using Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, and Python, implementing the canonical data model and driving data quality and observability.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams across invoicing, analytics, and reporting, and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, CS, or related field.
• 5+ years of data engineering delivering production pipelines.
• Snowflake experience including streams, tasks, warehouse sizing and performance tuning, RBAC.
• Production dbt and Airflow experience for modeling and DAGs.
• Strong Python and SQL proficiency; data modeling skills.
• Experience with testing and CI/CD in pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own data pipelines in a unified framework using Airflow, dbt, and Snowflake.
• Implement the canonical data model in production, contributing to architectural direction.
• Build automated data quality checks and validation at pipeline stages.
• Instrument pipelines for observability: freshness, lineage, and alerting.
• Enable self-service data access for consuming teams with governed outputs.
• Collaborate with invoicing, analytics, and reporting teams to translate requirements.
• Migrate and consolidate data workloads without disrupting consumers.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident reviews for data issues.
• Maintain high engineering standards: version control, testing, code review, and CI/CD.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical level of the team.
