Job summary

Lyric is hiring a Senior Data Engineer for the Data Platform team. You will build the data foundation powering Lyric’s healthcare insights, using Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, and Python.

You’ll implement the canonical data model in production, add automated validation, and ensure data quality and observability across a multi-tenant platform. You will mentor engineers and collaborate with non-engineering data consumers, with on-call duties and a strong emphasis on CI/CD and testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, building and owning production data pipelines.
• Strong Snowflake experience, including streams and tasks, warehouse sizing and performance tuning, SQL optimization, and RBAC.
• Production experience with dbt and Airflow, including model and DAG structuring.
• Strong programming in Python and deep SQL proficiency.
• Solid data modeling skills for shared/custom schemas.
• Experience building data quality validation into pipelines.
• Disciplined engineering practices: VCS, testing, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own data pipelines in our unified framework using Airflow, dbt, and Snowflake.
• Implement the canonical data model in production and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Build automated validation and data quality checks into pipelines at defined stages.
• Instrument pipelines for observability including freshness, lineage, and alerting.
• Enable self-service data delivery as governed output rather than custom builds.
• Collaborate with invoicing, analytics, and reporting teams to translate needs into data.
• Migrate and consolidate data workloads onto the unified framework without disruption.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident reviews to improve reliability.
• Maintain high engineering standards: version control, testing, code review, CI/CD.
