Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer on the Data & Performance Enablement team to design and implement platforms that manage distributed event streaming, data warehouse, and messaging infrastructure. You will own key features for our data platforms and mentor engineers while aligning with the technical roadmap.

You will collaborate across teams to optimize performance, reliability, security, and automation, participate in on-call rotations, and help customers of our data services

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in data platforms or related roles.
• Experience with Kafka/Redis messaging.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Scripting in Bash or Python.
• Solid experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure or AWS).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain components of the data platform automation for provisioning, backups, and user management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance and reliability issues in data systems; act as escalation point.
• Identify opportunities to improve data streaming services, security, scalability, and automation.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support critical services.
• Mentor junior engineers on database administration and DBRE best practices.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by researching new data technologies and proposing solutions.
