Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Principal Engineer, Data Platforms to serve as the senior technical authority for the Unified Ingestion Platform and Federated Data Lake, supporting observability, security, and telemetry data across the enterprise.

You will define and execute the technology strategy for a highly scalable, cloud-native data platform capable of ingesting hundreds of terabytes daily across Azure, AWS, and GCP, enabling enterprise observability and secure data sharing.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience architecting, building, and operating enterprise-scale cloud data platforms.
• 8+ years of experience with Databricks including Unity Catalog and governance.
• 8+ years of experience implementing IaC, CI/CD, and policy-as-code.
• 7+ years of experience with high-scale streaming/telemetry ingestion (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub, etc.).
• 5+ years in Principal Engineer roles driving multi-cloud strategy (Azure, AWS, GCP).

Responsibilities

• Define and own architecture and multi-year roadmap for data platforms across the enterprise.
• Scale ingestion and processing of 250+ TB per day across logs, metrics, traces, and security events.
• Govern Databricks architecture, workspace structures, and data governance models.
• Lead IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and secure access patterns to enable reliable platform operations.
• Drive security, observability, governance, and cost optimization across cloud data platforms.
