Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Principal Engineer, Data Platforms to drive the architecture and evolution of a unified ingestion platform and federated data lake. You will own Databricks strategy, multi-cloud account design, and automation to enable scalable, secure data workflows across Azure, AWS, and GCP.

You will lead governance, data lifecycle, and platform standardization while enabling AI/ML workloads and analytics at enterprise scale.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience architecting enterprise cloud data platforms and large-scale data ingestions.
8+ years designing and administering Databricks platforms including Unity Catalog and governance.
8+ years implementing IaC and CI/CD with Terraform, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
7+ years designing high-volume telemetry ingestion architectures (>100TB/day) using Kafka, Kinesis, etc.
5+ years in a Principal Engineer/Lead Architect role driving multi-cloud strategy and platform modernization.

Responsibilities

Define and own the multi-year architecture roadmap for the Unified Ingestion Platform and Federated Data Lakes.
Architect and scale ingestion & processing across 250+ TB per day for logs, metrics, traces, and security events.
Govern Databricks architecture, multi-cloud structures, workspaces, and data governance.
Lead IaC/Policy-as-Code adoption and CI/CD pipelines for reliable operations.
Establish security, governance, observability, and reliability practices aligned with OTEL/OCSF.
