Job summary

Synchrony Financial is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to provide technical leadership for building and enhancing on-premises data warehouse solutions and accelerating the migration to AWS, including Amazon Redshift. You will work with stakeholders across product management, data science and architecture to design scalable data solutions.

The role requires deep expertise in ETL, data warehousing, and cloud technologies with hands-on experience in Ab Initio, SQL, and Redshift, and will involve

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technology experience.
• Experience with large-scale relational databases and cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Strong knowledge of ETL, data warehousing, cloud technologies (AWS) and analytics concepts.
• Experience with on-prem RDBMS/data warehouse platforms and Ab Initio.
• Experience with batch and real-time data pipelines in a DevOps environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, fault-tolerant data applications on on-prem and AWS.
• Manage data needs of stakeholders within a single business vertical.
• Collaborate with architects, data scientists and product management on requirements.
• Ensure compliance with data management policies and enterprise standards.
• Promote automation and modern data engineering practices.
