Job summary

Synchrony Financial in Dallas is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to provide technical leadership for building on-prem data warehouses and accelerating migration to AWS, including Amazon Redshift. You will collaborate with architects, data scientists and product managers to design scalable, fault-tolerant data solutions that meet business goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 4+ years in technology in financial services or equivalent
Experience with large-scale relational databases and public cloud environments (AWS preferred)
Strong ETL, data warehousing, cloud technologies (AWS) and analytics knowledge
Experience with on-prem RDBMS/data warehouse platforms and Ab Initio; advanced SQL and AWS Redshift

Responsibilities

Understand and manage data needs of stakeholders in a single business vertical
Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant data apps on on-prem & AWS to store/process terabytes of data
Collaborate with architects, data scientists and product management on solution requirements
Lead the technical team to ensure data solutions meet business goals and drive enhancements
Work in a Scaled Agile environment with cross-functional teams
