Job summary

Synchrony is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and implementation of scalable data applications across on‑prem and AWS environments. You will drive migration efforts to AWS, including Amazon Redshift, while collaborating with architects, data scientists, and product managers.

You will oversee data governance, choose robust technologies, and mentor a technical team in a fast‑paced, scalable data environment within Synchrony.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years in technology or equivalent experience.
• Experience with large-scale relational databases and cloud (AWS) environments.
• Strong ETL, data warehousing, cloud (AWS) and analytics concepts.
• Proficient in on‑prem RDBMS/data warehouse platforms and Redshift.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of scalable data applications on on‑prem and AWS.
• Collaborate with architects, data scientists and product management on solutions.
• Ensure data governance, standards and production readiness.
• Guide the technical team and promote automation and best practices.
