Job summary

Synchrony is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and implementation of on‑prem and AWS data warehouse solutions, accelerating migration to AWS and Amazon Redshift. You will collaborate with architects, data scientists, and product managers in a fast-paced, evolving environment to deliver scalable data solutions with high availability.

Key responsibilities include leading a technical team, ensuring best practices, and driving automation while staying aligned with Synchrony data

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
4+ years in technology/data engineering in consumer banking or related field.
Strong ETL, data warehousing, AWS cloud experience and analytics concepts.
Experience with on-prem RDBMS and Ab Initio tooling.
Hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift and related AWS data services.

Responsibilities

Understand data needs of stakeholders within a single business vertical.
Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant data applications on‑prem and AWS.
Collaborate with architects, data scientists, and product management to design solutions.
Lead technical team and drive data solutions to meet business goals.
Ensure compliance with data management policies and enterprise standards.
Work within a Scaled Agile framework and promote automation.
