Job summary

Synchrony is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to provide technical leadership for on‑premises data warehouse solutions and accelerate migration to AWS, including Amazon Redshift. You will drive scalable data applications, partner with architects, data scientists, and product managers, and lead a team to deliver high-availability data solutions.

Ideal candidates will have 4+ years in technology, strong SQL and AWS Redshift experience, and a track record of building batch and real-time data

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher with at least 4 years in technology roles in banking/finance preferred.
Strong experience with large-scale relational databases, AWS, and data warehousing.
Expertise in ETL, data warehousing concepts, and analytics.
Hands-on with AWS Redshift and related data services; strong SQL skills.
Experience with batch and real-time data pipelines in a DevOps environment.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for data solutions on-premises and in AWS.
Design scalable, fault-tolerant data applications to store and process terabytes of data.
Collaborate with architects, data scientists, and product management to define requirements.
Lead a technical team and guide architecture improvements and automation initiatives.
Work in Scaled Agile teams and manage stakeholder engagement.
