Job summary

Synchrony seeks a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and modernization of on‑prem data warehouses and accelerate migration to AWS with Redshift. You will guide a technical team, partner with architects, data scientists and product managers, and ensure high‑availability data solutions across on‑prem and cloud environments.

Responsibilities include scalable data applications, ETL and analytics, adherence to data management standards, and collaboration within a Scaled Agile framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technology field with 4+ years in data engineering.
• Strong experience with ETL, data warehousing, cloud analytics (AWS).
• Hands-on with on‑prem RDBMS, Ab Initio, SQL and Redshift.
• Ability to partner with stakeholders and operate in an Agile setting.

Responsibilities

• Understand stakeholder data needs within a single business vertical.
• Design scalable, fault‑tolerant data applications on on‑prem and AWS.
• Lead the data engineering team and promote automation.
• Collaborate in Scaled Agile with Product Owners and teams.
