Job summary

Jump is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own and evolve the data platform that powers the company. You’ll manage ELT pipelines in Snowflake using dbt, ensure data reliability, and design scalable workflows across the stack for both internal dashboards and client-facing products.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into durable data solutions, implement testing and monitoring, and help shape data governance while advancing AI/ML use cases.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of data engineering experience.
• Own complex data systems from design to production with solid architectural tradeoffs.
• Strong product and stakeholder instincts translating business needs into durable data solutions.
• Deep, production-grade SQL and Snowflake expertise.
• Deep experience with dbt, including testing, documentation, dependencies and deployment.
• Software engineering discipline — Git-based version control and CI/CD for data pipelines, plus Python skills.
• Proven track record of building testing, monitoring, and alerting into pipelines before failures.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain ELT pipelines turning raw data into modular, well-tested dbt models in Snowflake.
• Design and maintain reliable data orchestration and workflows as the platform grows.
• Write and maintain dbt tests to catch issues early.
• Document models and sources so data meaning is discoverable.
• Develop monitoring and alerting for pipeline failures and data anomalies.
• Optimize Snowflake design and materialization to balance performance and cost.
• Evolve Snowflake access controls and governance with roles and grants.
• Engage with internal teams and clients to understand data needs.
• Apply strong engineering discipline with version control and CI/CD for data work.
