Job summary

Gravity IT Resources is seeking a Sr Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize data pipelines and analytics solutions using Snowflake and dbt. You will collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, Product, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, well-governed data platforms.

The role requires strong SQL, data modeling, and hands-on dbt development in a cloud environment. Remote work is supported, with focus on delivering high-quality data assets for BI and analytics.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• 4+ years with dbt Core or dbt Cloud.
• Advanced SQL skills.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing and dimensional data modeling.
• Experience developing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
• Experience with data quality, testing, documentation, and governance.
• Strong understanding of cloud-based data platforms and modern data architecture.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with technical and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data warehouse solutions using Snowflake.
• Develop, test, and deploy data transformation workflows using dbt.
• Build and maintain reusable, modular, and well-documented dbt models.
• Develop complex SQL queries for data transformation, analysis, and performance optimization.
• Design dimensional and analytical data models supporting reporting and BI.
• Implement dbt testing, documentation, source freshness, data quality checks, and lineage.
• Optimize Snowflake queries, warehouses, storage, and compute for performance and cost.
• Integrate data from multiple sources including APIs, databases, SaaS apps, and enterprise systems.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and data ingestion processes.
• Collaborate with analysts, BI developers, architects, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
• Establish and enforce data engineering best practices around version control, CI/CD, testing, documentation, and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot data pipeline failures and resolve data quality and performance issues.
• Mentor junior and mid-level data engineers and contribute to standards and architecture decisions.
