Job summary

World Market is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design scalable data pipelines and transform data for analytics. You will own end‑to‑end delivery, collaborate with Snowflake admins, and promote DataOps practices across teams.

Applicants should have 10+ years in data engineering, 5+ years with Snowflake, and strong SQL/Python skills, plus experience with Airflow, dbt, Git, and Terraform. Remote work flexibility is available.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of data engineering experience supporting analytical teams.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud data warehouses, especially Snowflake.
• Expert knowledge of SQL and Python.
• Hands-on experience with Airflow, dbt, Git, CI/CD (GitHub Actions/Jenkins), and Terraform.
• Kimball data warehouse modeling, data quality, and documentation best practices.
• Experience with API design; real-time streaming is a plus.
• Production support, monitoring, and root cause analysis for data pipelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Mentoring experience; setting technical standards and balancing scalability with delivery needs.
• Track record of partnering with business stakeholders across customer, product, or merchandising domains.
• Experience collaborating with Enterprise Architect, Security, Cloud Infra, and offshore teams.
• Retail experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines and data infrastructure for multiple business domains.
• Develop data transformations, cleaning, and validation logic to deliver trusted, well‑documented data models for analytics.
• Create reusable frameworks, templates, and self‑service tools for engineering and business teams.
• Manage source code, documentation, and release planning; apply DataOps, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery and production support of data products, monitoring pipeline health and troubleshooting failures to meet SLAs.
• Document data definitions, transformations, and lineage.
• Collaborate with Snowflake administrators/architects to evaluate platform capabilities and optimize performance.
• Adopt new tools and technologies to enhance platform capability and analytics delivery speed.
• Ensure best practices with Analytics, Security, and Cloud Infra teams.
• Translate business questions into data models and self‑service datasets; partner directly with stakeholders.
• Set standards and patterns for domain‑specific data products; mentor engineering teams.
• Maintain communication and collaboration in a fully remote environment; preferred for candidates on or near the West Coast.
