Job summary

Tempus is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and own a scalable data platform enabling real-time clinical evaluation across federated hospital networks. You will work on pipelines for EHR, genomics, and imaging data, and own the BigQuery/dbt layer, with a focus on reliability, security, and performance.

The role requires strong Python and TypeScript experience, cloud infrastructure expertise on Google Cloud, and a habit of delivering production-grade services in a regulated healthcare

Qualifications

• Proven experience building production data pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Hands-on data modeling and governance in healthcare or life sciences contexts.
• Strong ownership, reliability, and ability to operate end-to-end in production.

Responsibilities

• Build data pipelines feeding autonomous AI agents for real-time clinical evaluation.
• Own the data warehouse and dbt models on BigQuery with tests and documentation.
• Model multi-modal patient records across EHR, genomics, and imaging domains.
• Develop event-driven services using Pub/Sub and ensure idempotent, reliable delivery.
• Create data access patterns and metadata layers enabling agent-based querying.
• Write TypeScript services and APIs to support platform functionality and agent coordination.
