Tempus AI is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own the data platform underpinning a real-time, agent-ready healthcare system. You will build pipelines across EHR, genomics, and imaging, while shaping data models and secure, scalable cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities include developing TypeScript services, managing Pub/Sub workflows, and enforcing data quality with end-to-end lineage in a HIPAA-regulated environment. This role emphasizes ownership and practical, production-grade delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building data-intensive software systems in production.
• Deep experience with Google Cloud and data platforms.
• Experience with HIPAA-regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Build data pipelines feeding agents for real-time inference.
• Own the warehouse and transformations with dbt on BigQuery.
• Model multi-modal patient records and data schemas.
• Manage Pub/Sub topics, subscriptions, and dead-letter handling.
• Develop TypeScript services and APIs for agent I/O.
• Extend Google Cloud infrastructure with Terraform and IAM.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, and ground truth for evaluations.
• Support federated hospital networks with secure, scalable design.
