Job summary

BECU is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and develop cloud-native data solutions and scalable pipelines. You will work with architects and product owners to deliver secure, reusable data products that enable analytics and AI-ready capabilities.

The role supports remote work across WA, TX, CA, ID, SC and other approved locations, with opportunities to collaborate across teams and mentor junior engineers while advancing data governance and platform modernization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of functional experience in data engineering.
• 4+ years of coding experience in Python, Scala, Java, and SQL.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and modern data platforms (Azure Synapse, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
• Experience with ETL/ELT, data modeling, and data warehousing.

Responsibilities

• Design enterprise data solutions for cloud-native data platforms and integration services.
• Build scalable data pipelines supporting batch, near real-time, and API-based integrations.
• Drive technical innovation and prototyping for data solutions balancing tech excellence with business needs.
• Champion data governance, metadata management, and data quality standards.
